Gregory Poole Equipment Company

Big Machines, Bigger Hearts

Gregory Poole Equipment Company and its employees showed that when it comes to building strong foundations, their hearts are just as capable of accomplishing this task as the industrial equipment it sells.

The organization continues to be a loyal and long-time supporter of the United Way. And this year's participation continued Gregory Poole's dedication to the communities in which it conducts business.

Employees of the Washington, NC location of Gregory Poole Equipment Company pledged $1,478 to the 2009-2010 United Way Campaign--an amount that received a 50% corporate match, resulting in a grand total of $2,717.

Wayne Windley, Service Operations Manager, has participated in Gregory Poole's United Way campaign for the majority of his 33-year career with the company. He shared that the ability to easily support a wide variety of local charities by giving to the United Way is one reason he contributes year-after-year.

Company values of compassion, friendliness, and loyalty resonate with the Washington branch employees, and Windley is no exception. He believes it is important for Gregory Poole to show its commitment to Beaufort County in tangible ways. "Our employees have always been active in the community," Windley stated. He illustrated just how active Gregory Poole employees are by providing countless examples of community engagement including being involved in various parades, supporting a range of fundraising efforts, and volunteering personal time to those causes important to each individual employee.

Excited by the generosity of Gregory Poole employees, several Beaufort County United Way board members and community partners came out for the check presentation (seen in the picture below) to celebrate this year's accomplishment.
