Board of Directors

The Beaufort County United Way Board of Directors are a group of volunteers legally responsible for making sure the organization remains true to its mission, safeguards its assets, acts as good stewards of the community's contributions, and operates in the public interest.

Our board members serve a variety of functions:

Help to determine the organization's mission and purpose
Ensure effective organizational planning
Ensure adequate resources
Manage resources effectively
Determine, monitor, and strengthen the organization's programs and services
Enhance the organization's public standing
Ensure legal and ethical integrity and maintain accountability
Recruit and orient new board members and assess board performance
